La lecture se fera en français. Mise en contexte pour le public anglophone:
La Troupe du Jour’s fourth annual summer Carte blanche event, where an artist is invited to use La Troupe’s theatre space to explore and develop a creative project, was awarded this year to Madeleine Blais-Dahlem for a writer’s residence supported by a team of actors and dramaturgs.
Cantate pour légumes is an absurdist play. On the surface, it appears to be about four vegetables who decide to go on a pilgrimage to Compostello. And maybe that’s true too.
The public is invited to a stage reading with movement on Friday, August 21st at 7 :30 pm in Studio 914, 20th Street W, Saskatoon.
It is in French with no English surtitles, but the playwright is keen to know if the musicality of the dialogue and structure conveys the journey taken by the four vegetables.
The reading will be followed by fellowship and a discussion.
